Didn’t Watch the Movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood? Here Is Why You Should

Before you only Google Once Upon a Time and end up watching the ABC drama series which gave fashionistas the Emma Swan Red Jacket, don’t forget to add ” In Hollywood ” in the search bar!

Hollywood industry never runs short of individuals attempting to make comedy movies and Quentin Tarantino is no name in the exception list. Directed Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Tarantino’s film received tons of positive reviews and made staggering hundreds of millions of dollars with a budget below a hundred million dollars. Sounds terrific? Yeah!

The film is filled with comedic scenes enough funny to make you laugh for the rest of the day! Comprised of 161 minutes, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Tarantino’s one of the best films featuring Leonardo DiCaprio as Rick Dalton, Brad Pitt as Cliff Booth and Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate.

Allowing an insight into the classic fashion during the late 60s in the form of various accessories of Leonardo DiCaprio’s outfit including Leonardo DiCaprio Jacket, the film orbits around the life of the fictional character of Rick Dalton who strives hard to make a transition to the world of cinema from the television screen.

Basically, a TV star, Rick’s attempts prove to be of no benefit which leads him to land in Italy where he looks for a gig in Italian Western films called ” Spaghetti Westerns ”.

Although the film is tagged as fictional, many of the characters featured are actually the real-life actors who once were part of the Hollywood industry during the late 60s which includes the names of Bruce Lee and Sharon Tate. Not only that it also features the ill-mannered Mansion family led by Charles Mansion who was convicted of being behind Sharon Tate’s murder in August 1969.

Despite Rick’s character is based on fictional work, we can relate him to the real-life actors of Steve McQueen and Ty Hardin who shared similar stories. For example, while Rock is shown to be a struggling actor who dreams of entering Hollywood, Steve McQueen also struggled to get a gig in Hollywood films until he was offered a major role in The Great Escape which turned the direction of his career.

Another name that can be attached to Rick’s character is Ty Hardin who couldn’t make it to the Hollywood films which ultimately forced him to work in Italian movies as in the case of Rick. While Tarantino has personally approved the theory, which relates Rick to Hardin, he has also cleared Rick’s story is far from entirely true.

The film was of such importance to Tarantino that he revealed the audience a bit about what he was working on for years during an interview with Variety.

His words were, ‘’ I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old. I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A. and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore ”.

So, before the year 2020 becomes a past thing and another masterpiece directed by Tarantino makes it to the cinema, watch the film to witness what it was like to be in Los Angeles back in the late 60s.
